PLOMARI

Plomari is built amphitheatrically around the Sedunda gorge. It has a glorious historical past to preserve and it guides the traveller as a living museum through time full of images and memories.

Cobblestone streets and folk architecture preserve the traditional texture of the town, while restored industrial facilities (olive-presses, soap-refineries, tanneries etc.) these days are converted to museums and cultural centres, reflecting a move towards progress and development of the area.

The hospitality of the locals is apparent everywhere; cultural exhibitions of great interest are held frequently; Robust night life fills the summer nights with energy and music, while the famed local ouzo and tasty appetisers at the seaside tavernas lead to high-spirited ouzo symposiums.

Nature endowed the region with diverse landscapes pleasing to the eye. Lush vegetation is circling the villages of the area that cling to the mountainous slopes and the enchanting beaches and coves. The most well-known and frequented beaches are the ones located at Agios Isidoros and Agia Barbara. The beaches at Tarti and Melinda are more secluded and the cove at Drota should not be missed.

Many sizeable hotels and rented apartments in the area offer great scope for holidaymakers. Entertainment, beach sports and activity adventures are part of the experience.
