Hi Dimitra
Just wanted to thank you and Vaios for
helping to make our stay in Vatera so
enjoyable.
The apartment was great, Dawn looked after
us really well, the walks book “ Vatera
Around & About” was great - we'd never have
found the routes by ourselves and the May
Day lunch was superb.
We enjoyed our week in Skala Kalloni too. As
you said, it is very different. We were glad
you'd suggested only one week there instead
of two. The accommodation was fine but I
think we'd been spoiled by the facilities at
Madonna & overall we had a wonderful time.
Thanks again for all your organisation and
help. Hope your house gets finished this
year!
Best regards
Barbara & John Mitchell

Hello Dimitra
We arrived home this afternoon, had a good
journey. Strange was that in Holland now it
is warmer than in G reece!!
We had a very good time in Lesvos, and
enjoyed staying at Madonna Studios in Vatera.
We were glad to have the hotel next to the
airport for the last night. It saved us a
dark drive on the curved roads after a short
sleep.
We hope to see you on the Vogel festival at
the end of August!
Many greetings also to Vaios,
Leon van den Berg and Hanneke Hoogvliet
(also greetings from Winfried)

Hi Dimitra

Just another thank you for looking after us
so well ( again ) over the past ten days and
for the new places to eat in Vatera and
Agiasos. Everyone seemed to enjoy their
visit immensely - even Monica was back to
her old self after seeing the tulips and
going to the thermal springs in Polichnitos!
James loves his Greek flag - I gave it to
him this morning. I hope the Municipality
of Petra can get another one soon! The
journey back to Heathrow was very smooth
although the meal on the plane was bordering
on inedible as usual! It actually took me
longer to get from Heathrow to Norwich than
it did from Athens to Heathrow. I wasn't a
happy bunny when I got home last night!
Back to work now but at least we have a long
weekend coming up. Please pass on my
regards to Dirk when he arrives.
All the best to you and Vaios

Hello Dimitra,
We have stayed the first two weeks of August
at your apartment.
We just want to thank you again for your
help: with car, bus hours, information about
everything,
It were very relaxing weeks. Our last week
in Molivos was also wonderful. There we have
rented a scooter, so we have seen a lot of
Lesbos. You and your family are very
friendly and if we decide to come back to
Lesbos, we will certainly contact you.
If you want to come to Belgium one time or
for a few days, you can stay with us. We
have a spare room.
We wish you all the best.

Dear Dimitra
A note to say that we returned home safely
without any problems and are now back to
normal daily living after a great holiday.
Our thanks to you and to Vaios (and Maria)
for making us so welcome and the holiday so
enjoyable. We'll be thinking of you when
we eat the olives with our family at the
weekend.
Thank you
Our best wishes

Dear Dimitra,
We’re home
and recovering from jet lag. The rest of our
trip went very well. We had a super week in
Turkey. The ferry ride over was fine, just a
little chaotic in Ayvalik in customs as
there were two ferries and one customs
officer was out sick, so the line to clear
Immigration was a little long. No matter, we
survived. We visited Pergammon,
Ephesus and Pammukkale, all by car before
flying up to Istanbul from Izmir. When I get
the pictures, I'll mail them to you.
Vatera was a wonderful and restful stop
during our trip. I'm glad we came, and
I'm so thankful to you for all your help
with our accommodation, tickets & lost items
through your travel agency and the
invaluable information, which made all the
difference for our vacation.
Thanks,
Jim & Monica

Hi Dimitra,
Well, its hard to think that almost 2 weeks
have passed since we returned home. We had a
really good holiday in Vatera and in Lesvos.
Thanks for making us so welcome at Madonna
and for being so helpful. I still find it
surprising that the island is so under
promoted; it has such a lot to offer.
Ron took bits of movie film on our camera
and we have a good clip of two of the
kittens playing on the roof beneath our
apartment! We have some other clips showing
the terrapins, in Almyropotamos.
I certainly miss the blue skies, since
coming home the weather has been warm but
mixed - terrible flash floods in Cornwall
yesterday, people had to be airlifted to
safety!
I think the worst part was the homeward
journey. When we arrived at the airport we
had to join the long check-in queue. Next,
once again, the First Choice (not for food!)
culinary delight was sausages. This was our
fourth flight with them and, guess what -
every meal, be it morning or afternoon, has
been sausages! I think they must have shares
in them! It certainly was a shock to the
system after the wonderful food we had in
Vatera ! Then, once in Manchester we ended
up on a bus to the wrong car park and had to
come all the way back again!
Thanks again,
Best Wishes

Hi Dimitra, just emailing to say thanks on
behalf of the old folks. They really enjoyed
themselves and were extremely pleased with
their accommodation at Avgi Studios, Skala
Mistegnon, their trips to the monasteries &
churches around Lesvos and your excellent
personal services. Thanks for giving me
peace of mind while the old folks were in
Lesvos.
Thanks,

Dear Dimitra and Vaios
Just a quick e-mail to thank you for your
help and hospitality over the past two
weeks, in Vatera. I had a fantastic time
and was very sorry to leave.
The food and service at Maria's Taverna “ Ta
Kalamakia ” was great. She could present a
significant challenge to Delia Smith if she
ever wrote a recipe book! No complaints at
all about the evening meals. They were
fantastic!! I thought the packed lunches
were fine too, especially the spinach pies.
The two tavernas we used for lunch – Taverna
Duladeli in Agiasos and Vafios Taverna in
Vafios were also great. The group really
enjoyed the meals and it offered a change
from packed lunches..
Finally, the service you provided as the
Handling Agent - Hibiscus Travel was
superb. I really appreciated the way that
you handled the late arrivals at the
accommodation; luggage transfers, booking
and researching the lunchtime tavernas and
smoothing ruffled feathers. It certainly
made my life easier for which I am very
grateful.
I wish the Hibiscus Travel Agency the great
successes it deserves and if there is
anything I can help you with, please don't
hesitate.
All the best

Dear Dimitra,
We thank you for your kindness during our
stay at Madonna studios and our last two
days at Kalamakia.
Hereby you will find a picture as a token of
our gratitude for letting us come with you
at Easter.
We went back to the church last Friday and
again, just like at Easter day, I saw only
women at the balcony. Is it a tradition that
men do not go upstairs?
I eventually I quietly went upstairs to take
a picture and one of the women even
encouraged me to go further to have a better
view.
Please say hello to Dirk from us.
And tell him that Jacqueline is thrilled
with the book he gave her (she has read half
of it already).
We wish you success in business.

Dear Dimitra and Vaios,
Thank you for the wonderful time Sabine and
I had at Madonna Studios and Vatera.. I
never thought that it could be that
beautiful. You both are very very very nice
people. Even more than that, you are
friends. Thanks for that.
Thanks again and have a good summer.
